Many people think roulette is a game without a strategy. It’s fairly simple, straightforward rules can be deceiving. If you think that playing the game is a simple guessing game of where the little ball will land, you are wrong. Developing a roulette strategy will help you boost your wins.

Roulette Strategy: Yes and No

Before you discount the idea of a roulette strategy, realize that there is such a concept. Roulette strategy is simple, but it’s not necessarily a guaranteed win either. It merely boosts your chances. The math behind roulette is fairly straightforward. In roulette, the house has an edge of 5.26% for every bet except one. That other bet actually gives the house an edge of 7.29.

So How Do I Develop a Roulette Strategy

Here are some options for developing a roulette strategy:

  1. Realize your odds, and use this to develop a conservative roulette strategy. Place safer bets, try to increase your bankroll, and then make more risky bets. Hopefully you can build your winnings slowly.
  2. Find out about extended rules. Some casinos offer a rule called “surrender”. This applies to outside bets paying even money (red/black, even/odd, and high/low). When the wheel is spun and your ball lands on a 0 or 00, you will lose half of your money instead of all of it. This actually makes the casino edge drop to 2.63. Playing at a casino with a surrender rule would be a good decision in building a roulette strategy. It doesn’t guarantee a win by any means or negate a loss, but it sure makes your odds a lot better.
  3. Some online casinos offer single zero roulette. Over 12 bets, the house edge will drop to 2.7%.
Roulette Strategy: Test it Out!

No roulette strategy is foolproof, but having one can help sway the odds in your favor. Take these tips, experiment with your own, and just give it a spin!
