Roulette Chips, ranging in value from 25¢, can be bought from the Dealer. Each roulette Player is given a different color so the dealer can easily determine who is who on the table. Players can make as many bets as they wish. Bets are placed in many different ways on the table, and on a variety of numbers for different reasons. Roulette table minimums are posted at each roulette table.
Object of roulette:
Roulette is simple, easy to play and exciting, with a wide variety of bets and combination of bets, some at long odds and some at even odds. The Roulette Wheel has 36 numbers from 1 to 36, plus a "0" and a "00". The numbers are alternately colored red and black with the "0" and the "00" green.
Play begins when the roulette players have placed most of their bets by placing chips on the numbered layout. The Dealer then spins the white ball in the opposite direction of the spinning wheel. (see Roulette Tips below for choosing a dealer) Bets may be placed until the ball is ready to leave the track and the Dealer stops the betting. The Roulette dealer places a marker on the winning number and bets are paid accordingly.
Roulette Tips:
- Best of the Roulette Tips (High on the Roulette Tips scale) - Use a European wheel. A European wheel has one zero instead of the American wheel that has two. The odds are more in your favor. (The banners below use or have European Wheels.)
- Use the surrender rule – Only on American wheels - Outside bets are not lost on a zero and double zero but you lose half of your bet. With this rule the house edge on the even-money bets is only 2.63% compared to 5.26% on other bets.
- Take the time to watch the numbers If a number repeats often within 100 or so spins you may have found a biased roulette wheel. This means that the odds will be more in your favor for that particular number hitting. (This is medium on the Roulette Tips scale because most people will not want to take the time)
- Always avoid the five number bet (covering 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3), it has the least profitable payback of all the bets. The house advantage on this bet is a whopping 7.89%. (See Roulette Tips Roulette Odds)
- Don't use a system. Spend your time learning the game inside and out. (High on the Roulette Tips scale if you already haven't guessed.)
- Look for an experienced dealer. An experienced dealer might tend to spin the wheel and release the ball the same from spin to spin. If this is true, the ball will fall in a certain area from time to time. You can then target this area! (Very big on the Roulette Tips scale, However difficult)
- You must buy in before playing roulette and exchange the colored chips for regular casino chips when leaving the table. (This is low on the Roulette Tips scale but important information)
