Perfect Blackjack

The key to the perfect blackjack game is persistence at the blackjack
table and a knack for making the correct bets when necessary and getting
lucky when the bigger bets are made. The game of blackjack involves
all participating players receiving two cards, and the object of the
card game is to get as close to 21 as you can without going over.
Additionally, your two cards must be closer to 21 than the dealer's
two cards in order for you to win a particular hand.

Numbered cards (regardless of suit) are worth the number that appears on
the card. Face cards are worth 10, and an ace is worth either 11 or 1. A
"blackjack hand" consists of a face card OR a 10 card paired with an ace
to give a player 21. In a perfect blackjack game, all players would receive
this blackjack hand. However, since the odds are against this happening,
it is important to use perfect blackjack strategy when playing the game
of blackjack. The dealer will only be showing one card face-up at any given
time, so you must decide, during the course of a blackjack game, whether
you would like to "hit" (obtain another card from the deck) or "stay"
(keep only the cards you have). Perfect blackjack strategy calls for you
to stay with a 17 or above always, as the dealer must "hit" if he/she
has a 16 or below.

Much of the perfect blackjack strategy falls on the shoulders of
the individual player though, as he/she must decide whether to
stay with a 15 if the dealer is showing a 4 card face-up. Here,
a player might decide that the dealer will have a 10 in the hole
(thus giving him/her a 14) and must take another hit. If he/she
receives another 10 or even an 8 or 9, the dealer busts and the
player wins! Perfect blackjack strategy falls half on the side
of common sense (not hitting on a 20, for instance) and half on
the side of luck (staying with a 12 and watching the dealer bust,
in any instance). But for the perfect blackjack experience, choose
a strategy, stick with it, and hope for the best!
