Basic Craps Strategy

Some casino games are so easy to play, a chimp could probably sit down in the seat and at least walk away with a few dollars left. Think about it. It doesn’t take much skill to pull the lever on a slot machine. Blackjack has some technique to it in order to be successful, but hitting and staying is the basis of that game. Even roulette can be played quite easily by someone guessing colors on the wheel or taking a shot at picking the winning number. However, aside from poker, craps is one of the more confusing and hardest games to fully comprehend within a casino. However, with some simple studying of the game of craps at an online casino and some craps strategy, anyone can be successful at the game of craps.

Basic Craps Strategy At Hand

The basic point of craps is for the shooter to roll any number outside of craps (2, 3, 12) and then roll that number again before he or she rolls a 7. Though the game is more complicated than that at times, let’s assume that to be a simple explanation of how a game of craps works. Therefore, when you are betting at a craps table, the easiest bet to make is whether or not a shooter (roller of the dice) will roll that number, whether he or she will roll a different number, or whether he or she will roll a 7 and make a “pass.” You are betting on whether or not the person will hit certain numbers, which is quite easy to do. But naturally, that also means that that bet yields the lowest payout and odds. So, how can you win?

Some Craps Bets Don’t Pay Off

Much like roulette, by betting on one of craps’ many longshots, you are putting yourself in the position to win more money. For instance, if you bet that the shooter will roll a 2, you can win at the betting odds of 30-to-1. That means that if you were to put $5 of such a bet, you get $150 in response to a win. Generally though, these bets are longshots for a reason. So, new bettors at a craps table should follow craps strategy that gives them the best opportunity to win money (or at least break even) while learning the game. Stick to betting whether or not shooters will pass or not pass. Should you feel adventurous, choose a longshot but only bet a small amount of money to bet, or just bet the minimum. This basic craps strategy should keep you out of trouble while you work towards improving your skills at the craps table.
