Learning the Craps Table
| |
|
So, you want to learn about the craps table, eh? The craps table
is somewhat confusing when you first take a look at it. A
beginner should concentrate on the pass line bet. Just place a
$5 chip on the pass line when the puck is showing the black "off".
This means that the shooter is not "on" a number yet. Once your
bet is placed you are rooting for a 7 or 11 (you will win 2X your bet) until the puck is "on" and
white. Once the shooter rolls a 4,5,6,8,9,10 the puck is turned to "on".
Now, you may place a bet directly behind the bet you have just made. You
get a better odds payout on this bet than anywhere on the craps table! Use this
to your advantage.

|
Beware! The craps table is full of sucker bets. Stay away from the
Big 6 or Big 8 on the corner of the craps table.
Also, the "5 for 1 Seven" bet is terrible odds. All of the hard
way bets do not have good odds either. These are in the middle
of the crap table. An example is 5 and 5 for a "hard ten".
Good bets on the craps table
The passline, the don't pass line, and the come bet are the best
places on the craps table to play. The reason is because you get to
put odds bets once the puck is set to "on" with these bets. It is
recommended that you put the maximum allowed at the casino that you
choose to play at on these odds bets. Most craps tables allow 3X odds.
This mean that, for a $5 bet on the pass line, you can bet $15 for your
odds bet. The casinos that are recommended on this page give great craps
table odds.
