With the New Year already upon the United States of America, 2006 brings a new
poker experience to the States that was not always so keen on allowing gambling
to become part of the culture. The last two years have seen Chris Moneymaker
and Greg "Fossilman" Raymer become household names after their million dollar
victories at the World Series of Poker in 2003 and 2004.

The 2006 New Poker Attitude
The 2006 new poker attitude tends to allow even teenagers to engage in fun Texas
Hold 'Em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud, and other poker variety tournaments. College
campuses have held poker events right on campus for collegiate students to
partake in and enjoy. In addition to these changes to poker in the year 2006,
the World Series of Poker has become an annual event held in April or May of
every year with players from all over the world coming and participating in one
of the largest gambling-related events of the entire year! The growing
popularity of the event has caught the eye of ESPN executives who have launched
poker into a nationwide phenomenon that stretches now into the year 2006.
Continually airing scenes from last year’s World Series of Poker, ESPN has also
announced the creation of "Tilt", an original series that has been written by
the writers of the hold 'em movie "Rounders".
2006 Brings New Poker Rooms To Casinos and Online Casinos
With the last few years harvesting excitement towards poker, casinos have also
felt the wrath of its addictive nature and freewheeling players. 2004 and 2006
mark times in which the new poker experience has surpassed other popular
favorites, namely blackjack, roulette, and slots. Interested in getting into a
poker game at the local casino? Years ago, this may have created a problem as
the poker room was strictly for experienced players. But with new poker games
launching all over the Internet these days, anyone can learn how to play the
game of poker and take those skills to the casino and win a few bucks.
